Vacancy: IT Technician

 

Responsible to: IT Manager

 

Job purpose: To maintain the functioning of the school IT systems and associated sites and premises

 

Initial terms: 39 week contract (term time only); 37 hours per week; 28 days holiday (pro rata including 8 bank holidays) per annum. Overtime during school holidays when required & to cover staff holidays

 

Salary scale: National Minimum Wage (Age range dependant)

 

An opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our ICT Team. We are looking for someone who will be able to make a positive contribution to the continuing development of our school and who has excellent organisational and motivational skills.

 

Under the general supervision of the IT Manager, the IT Technician will install and support computers and network operations, provide hardware and software support, provide problem solving and training for end users and ensure systems’ efficiency and integrity.

 

The vacancy will suit a person with an interest and possibly experience in the ICT field. ICT is used extensively in supporting teaching and learning and therefore this position requires enthusiasm for ICT in every aspect of our school. This is an excellent opportunity to use varying technologies.

 

This role is suitable for individuals who possess good interpersonal skills, with good time management and have the ability to communicate effectively with all users on different levels. This individual must be willing to undertake further training and have a desire to learn and develop their skills further.

 

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be made on the successful candidates.

 

Duties to include, but not exhaustive:

 

Resolution of 1st line calls to the helpdesk

Install, maintain and upgrade ICT hardware and software

Undertake routine repairs of equipment

Management of workstations and associated devices including AV equipment and network printers.

Office 365 management

iPad Management

School website management via Wordpress

ICT inventory documentation

Willing to work overtime when needed in the school holidays to cover busy periods and staff holidays as determined by Line Manager.

To maintain absolute confidentiality at all times in respect of school-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.

Attend all safeguarding courses as determined by the Line Manager / Executive Headteacher/Head of School.

Carry out reasonable instructions from the Line Manager / Executive Headteacher / Head of School.

Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the changing needs of the role as determined by the Line manager / Executive Headteacher / Head of School.

Be contactable outside working hours if required.

Driving license essential as travel between the companies sites will be needed
