Can't see how they've got a valid case. Copying the weapons? Can you ride on a rocket in PUBG, can you throw a grenade at a player to make them dance, can you fly around on a jet pack? As for layout, does PUBG think they own the Battle Royale mode? Otherwise I can imagine there would've been fierce court battles between Unreal Tournament and Quake back in the day, as it could be argued they had very similar formats. I see it that they're two very different games based around the same concept, with two very different game styles.

Yup, besides it's rather funny as Epic could just tell pubg fair enough, we withdraw your right to use our engine for your game.

It's not like battle royale game modes are new, we used to have 64 player Battle Royals in Quakeworld and Quake 2 back in the day.

I think this is why PUBG are going for the IP argument as, IIRC, you cannot patent 'look and feel', but, as has already been said, these game modes and weapons have been around almost forever in FPS games.

This is more to do with Fortnite's freemium model really eating into PUBG's profits I suspect.
