Hello,

Across two schools I keep getting jobs logged for missing files or folders that should be in File Stream, the fix is simple enough, they need to right click on the file stream icon near the clock, log out and then log back in. The problem is that its happening for about 25% of the staff every couple of days, and they are starting to ask me if we can go back to our old file server setup, something I really want to avoid.

Is anyone else having these issue?

Any idea how I might fix this?

It sounds like File Stream isn't working because the authentication has timed out against the proxy server. How do you have that setup?

I really wouldn't be using File Stream at all. It's a gateway to GDPR issues and virus problems, but that's just my personal view on it.

Not to go too off topic, but why? We are in the process of rolling out 2 factor authentication, the staff have their own school supplied laptops with our virus software etc.

Do you trust your staff not to install it on their own machines at home?

Once you've signed in on your Drive File Stream machine, you won't have to sign in regularly so that's a way of circumventing 2FA.

OK back on topic - Still have this issue, I don't think its proxy related.

As a workaround - is there any way to get File Stream to log the user out when the laptop shuts down and then log them back in when the user logs in?
