Hard drive wiping tools.

Hello,

 

I have been tasked with finding a disk wiping tools to replace the one we currently use (KillDisk).

 

I am looking to find one that can:

• Wipe HDD / SDD / Smart Phones / Tablets
  
• Create logs of the wipe
  
• Preferably boots from USB
  

 

What do you guys use to securely wipe data from your old drives?

For personal use when selling stuff on I’ve always used an Ubuntu Live disk. It has the ability to Zero pass the drive and also more secure methods of erasing

I've always used dban.org (there is a free and commercial version)

Teenage boy and a set of screwdriver bit heads. Keeps him out of mischief for hours taking them apart and scratching and bending platters.

 

Failing that an electric drill straight through the drive.

I was assuming that one objective was to have them in a reusable state afterwards!

 

Otherwise I would have suggested a very big drill!
