AT least with the last batch of Mac Minis we bought (with their soldered CPU and RAM) the HDD, while fiddly to access, was a simple 2.5" drive that was cheap to swap on them once the warranty expired. They were borderline unusable with the standard 5400rpm drive, despite being Broadwell powered.
