DJ-1701 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Bit of an odd one. I've setup Office 365 message encryption capabilities... strange thing is, I don't get the Encrypt template option in Outlook 2016, but do in Outlook 365. Any ideas?
Cache Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) I think it's due to be included in a future update but can't find the page I read it on at the moment. In the mean time, we've created a mail flow rule with a specific subject to apply the Encrypt policy. Edit: might have been this page or similar on uservoice: https://office365.uservoice.com/forums/289138-office-365-security-compliance/suggestions/33941653--encrypt-rms-template-seamless-read-not-working Edited May 15, 2018 by Cache 1
DJ-1701 Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 (edited) Time t move to Office 365 Proplus? Ironically tried using the Click To Run (C2R) installer for Proplus after Cache's post last night. It does work... but... volume activation can not be done. Someone has to sign in to activate it and each account appears to be limited to 5 activations. So, until there is a way to resolve that one... I wonder why they have additional functionality in the C2R installer that's not in the native msi based Office 2016 which most organisations would be using. Edited May 16, 2018 by DJ-1701
Cache Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 I think it's because Office 365 ProPlus falls under their "as a service" branch of products so features just get rolled out quicker then they do to normal versions. For your activation issue, take a look at Shared Activations - not tried it though: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/overview-of-shared-computer-activation-for-office-365-proplus 1
free780 Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 (edited) Yep Device activation works but only officially supported in the US. Shared Activation works as well. Edited May 16, 2018 by free780 1
DJ-1701 Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 After @Cache pointed me down the right path of using C2R last night with the data in the uservoice link, I looked at any other threads on here about C2R activation, and found one. After a brief question @KevinB gave me a pointer to a wonderful guide for machine based activation (here's hoping they sort the SKU out of you soon). This was the guide I was going to follow but am stuck until the SKU I mentioned above is made available. Thank you all for your help. 1
