We have consent for bio-metrics, photos and text messaging on our admission forms when the students enter Year 7.

 

So...do we need to re-issue consent forms to all Parents for the above or are we fine?

Dis you explicitly say how the bio!etrics, photos and text messaging were to be used? To be honest, I would ask again properly to be on the safe side

Yes to bio-metrics and texts/emails but no to photos.

Depends how you asked. Was it clearly explained, separate from other terms and conditions, opt-in not opt-out? Do you still have the forms, so you can prove consent was given if needed?

 

If the answer to all the above is yes, you're fine. If it is no to any part of the above, then you should re-obtain consent.

Ok so we have clear consent for everything in admission forms apart from photos, to which we didn't clearly specify where the photos would be used.

When re-doing the photo consent, remember you do NOT need permission to take a photo and store it in SIMS, because that is a safeguarding thing. The permission you need is for non-essential use, e.g. on your website.
