[ms office - 2016] Applications Crashing

I've had a couple of people report that publisher/powerpoint/word are crashing when they attempt to open them. I'm suspecting a windows update as the cause but waiting for WSUS to generate a report. Has anyone else had anything like this (or worked out which update has caused it)? We're on the volume version of 2016.

these problems have been reported to me as well. If you find a solution please share.

I'm going to remove the above updates one at a time and see if it starts working again. Set them all to declined on WSUS so hopefully no other PC is going to get them.

I removed those four updates (didn't bother with the Excel one) and it made no difference.. but then I restarted and everything worked again. So whether it was just an update that needed following with a restart, or one of those updates that needs uninstalling, no idea.
