johbreaking Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 (edited) I reset my unifi AP at home and now it is plugged in and has a white light however i cannot find it in the unifi controller anywhere. IrritableTech Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 (edited) Has it got an IP from your router or whatever hands out your addresses? If so ash into it and set the inform address. Otherwise plus in the reset button while powering it up. Hold it on for around ten seconds to be safe. Then it should broadcast that it’s ready to be adopted. Edited May 7, 2018 by IrritableTech

Ok progress made i can now ping it and know the ip address. On my phone it is discoverable but on the cloud controller it is not showing up
IrritableTech Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 When you say cloud controller is it remote from you - ie. on the internet?
johbreaking Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 When you say cloud controller is it remote from you - ie. on the internet? sorry no its the client one that you can download on your pc. It is on my imac at the moment
IrritableTech Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Right well the theory is it should show up ready to be adopted. If not you can ssh into the AP now you know it’s ip address. Username and password should be ubnt Then you can do the following command Set-inform http://ip.of.your.controller:8080/inform You need to then adopt the access point in the controller and allow it to reboot, then you need to ssh and set-inform again. Not sure why you have to do it twice but you do. Otherwise have you got chrome on you Mac? If so try the unifi chrome discovery app. That may help you adopt. 1

IrritableTech Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 No. You need to use the ip of your Mac where the controller software is running.
