It has been going on for weeks now and is driving me mad.

If you have a keyboard, simultaneously pressing the Windows logo key, Ctrl, Shift and B might help, as that resets the graphics driver. Tablet users can try the pushing the volume up and down buttons together three times within 2 seconds. If you have a laptop, you might be able to unfreeze your system by closing and opening the lid.” 1

Could this be some sort of DNS issue? I am able to ping using CMD. DNS flush has not helped Edited May 4, 2018 by talksr

ktopp Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 This has started happening to us. Only on certain users, mainly teaching staff. Chrome works for a couple of minutes then becomes unresponsive for about 30 seconds then is accessible for a few clicks then unresponsive. When this happens it usually takes out IE as well. Uninstalled Sophos, moved OUs changed users and rebuilt the affected machines. Usually this cures it for a while but then back into the same cycle. There seems to be no particular pattern to which machines are affected other than it being a member of staff. There are no obvious suspects in the Staff group policies as apposed to the student.
