Anyone on LGfL use 3CX phone system?

I want to look at 3CX as an alternative to our current phone system just on a trial basis. Are there any issues with 3CX and running it through the LGfL network?

Hi fiza. It depends if you are hosting it in the cloud or on-premise. Different grids for learning have different rules around SIP and voice, but if you can give a few more details then I will give the best advice I can.

We have it working on site here, although only as a backup.

 

You will need to get a list of ports and addresses to unblock from your sip trunk provider, and then submit them to the Atomwide/LGFL helpdesk.

What are you using as your main system?

We have a dedicated voice circuit from Spitfire.co.uk which I think is SDSL or something along those lines. Our 3cx server is a standard onsite virtual machine.

 

I can't remember how we do the failover off the top of my head. But we have had calls routed via LGFL before this line was up and running.

I know your SIP provider will be different but I was wondering if you could PM me the MIP request you created to get 3CX to work please? I just need the format it needs to be in. I have tried raising several MIPS and its still not working. Not sure if I am asking for the wrong thing or they dont understand what I need.

We asked the LGfL to split out 20 Mbps of our 200 Mbps pipe as an unfiltered ('Option 2') connection for VoIP. Took a bit of back and forth arguing with them that, yes, we do know what we're talking about and know what we're doing, but we got it. Definitely easier than about with MIPs and going cap-in-hand to them every time you need something changed.

i had the same problem, in the end i had to use a combination of wireshark to look at the traffic directly and to also get an updated list of IP's and ports to whitelsit - its a painful process especially when we have no control over the firewall

Hi there i saw your posts. Im after some help getting 3cx working through LGFL. They require ip addresses. I have provided some but there doent seem to be any more i can provide. It mainly the outbound rule on the MIP request. How did you get on with it in the end?

 

Any help would be appreciated especially the MIP info they require!!

@tonyuk2283 your 3cx reseller should provide you with the SIP endpoints. Usually 93.x.x.x/24 and 146.x.x.x/27 - can vary on the host and even more so if they use Gamma SIP on top of the 3cx platform.

 

Do you have an on prem SBC also, or just pure cloud.

 

I do have a specific ruleset for ports, but the provider must provide the endpoints.
