KingDuncan Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Is it ok to delete pkg files? I have a number in the following directory tree SIMS\Solus3\Repository\DoNotDeleteThisFolder\... I obviously do not intend to delete the folder, but within that folder there are a number of randomly numbered folders with very large pkg files. They seem to relate to upgrades, but they are taking up a huge amount of space (1.6GB altogether). Thanks Duncan
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Assuming you have upgraded to SOLUS 3.12.41 you can go into 'Settings | SOLUS3 | SOLUS' and click the 'Clean repository' button, this should remove any pkg file from the repository that is no longer valid for the currently installed products or the previous version. (there are some very old things that are still needed as they haven't been updated in a long time so you can't just remove all pkg files over a year old without getting rid of these files. e.g. the Borland database stuff) 2
KingDuncan Posted May 2, 2018 Author Posted May 2, 2018 Thanks for the quick response. When clicked, I get a message to say that the Repository Clean up has been scheduled. Will this then happen automatically at some point in the future or do I need to action the scheduled task somehow? Many thanks
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 it's usually done by the next day, you don't need to do anything else (assuming SOLUS3 is functioning normally)
