Aldi do 1080p 14" Laptop for £199 - April 2018

Just seen this announced on the specialbuys - https://www.aldi.co.uk/medion-14%22-full-hd-notebook/p/083785202477400

 

It's a Medion and has a quad core Atom x5-z8350 and 2GB Ram (the CPU will only accept a max of 2GB) and a 64GB flash drive.

Whilst not exactly ground breaking could be a good buy as a cheap travel laptop or a kids first laptop.

At that price with that performance I think it'd be difficult to explain to anyone the difference from that over a) any decent refurb laptop and b) any half sharp chromebook If it was £99 then maybe worth a punt.

It doesn't look too bad in all fairness. I just wonder about the actual quality of the casing, it does have a very cheap look.

Not at all, normally people will say they won't touch them because they haven't heard of the brand.

I never knew it was owned by Lenovo, I love Lenovo laptops. I have never had any issues with them and I've owned 3!

Trouble is, there's a WORLD of difference between consumer level Lenovo crap (which I believe is actually built by Medion or their squabble or related companies) and business class Lenovo devices. Likewise, it's all very well and good pointing that out but Ferrari are owned by Fiat... are you rushing out to buy yourself a new Panda?

I remember one of the old mark 1 4x4s although can't remember if it was the Panda or the Uno. I always wondered what they were like to hoon around in.
