classroom booking system

Hi everyone,

 

I'm new here. Im in the middle of trying to get the classroom booking system working.

I noticed webman developed the Classroom Bookings system.

Please would you be able to help me. I'm quite new to all this.

 

I have followed the instructions but when I reach the point where I have to go to the website to configure the booking system it doesnt work.

I have a domain, eg. http://mydomain.co.uk

 

I created a folder under that domain so tried to browse to http://mydomain.co.uk/classroombookings

I also tried going to http://mydomain.co.uk/classroombookings/index.php

 

It doesnt go anywhere. Instead it just stays on my domain http://domain.co.uk giving me my cant be found page.

 

I'm hosted on 1and1 and created a new database from my 1and1 control panel.

 

Its as if it cant see any of the classroombookings folder at all.

 

Any ideas?

Hi Sonic007! Thanks for checking out Classroombookings

 

Did you buy the domain and hosting package together via 1&1? If you've uploaded the folder and you're getting an error when accessing it, it could be that the domain isn't pointing to the hosting yet, for some reason.

 

Are there "public_html", "www", or "webroot" folders there? If there are - classroombookings folder (and anything else that should be accessible) should be in here.

 

Also try creating a file - such as "test.php" - in the above folders (if they exist), and put this contents in it:

 

 

Then visit

mydomain.co.uk/test.php

in the browser to view that page - it should show details about your PHP configuration if all is well. Remove this file once you've finished testing the setup.

I already ave a website and domain name so used that and just created a classroom bookings folder at the root of the directory.

I’m wondering if it’s maybe a permissions thing?

Il give the test.php a go although I can’t access anything in that folder currently.

@webman - noticed version 2 of classroom bookings is out [emoji16].

 

Whats new in version 2 from v1? Will it support LDAP [emoji6] and what about email notifications [emoji6][emoji6].

Hey @timbo343! You're right, it is!

 

Version 2 brings it up to date with support for modern versions of PHP (lots of behind-the-scenes changes in the core), improved installer, bug fixes, better security, and more/better documentation.

 

No other major new features just yet, but the groundwork is done to make them easier
