Windows 10 Bitlocker Password Staff Laptops

What are you doing for Bitlocker passwords? Are you presetting them or letting staff choose?

 

I have Bitlocker creating a recovery password in AD so am not too worried, but I have been presetting passwords for staff and it just seems to be causing them confusion and they are panicking they won't remember.

Presetting them. If they kick off that they're complicated I simply say "GDPR" and that shuts them up.

Buying laptops/Desktops with a TPM since 2009.

Presetting them. We have to be able to work on them and rescue them, so passwords are kept in a secure database.

Staff set there own and some still forget them.

 

Recovery keys are in AD so it’s just a case of unlocking with that and resetting if needed.

If no TPM chip then we preset them and so far nobody has forgotten them!
