mr_anthony Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Good afternoon everybody, I've been playing a game a "whack-a-mole" for too long now. My public school has several refurbished desktop computers with the Intel D61CR motherboard and every security update since March (KB4088875, KB4088881, and KB4093118) has crashed the computer. After installing the update Windows won't load and I either have to revert to the last restore point or reimage the computer. Has anybody else had this issue and what's the best way to go about to correcting it. Thank you in advance!
JATSO Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Are they Stone PC's? Do you have the latest bios which is 0016 as published on their site. They don't recommend 0020 even though it's out. Ours were bought in 2012 were using Windows 10 ver1709, but suspect an update will kill them in the not to distant future. 1

Hey Jatso, thanks for your response, the computers we use were assembled/remanufactured by Bytespeed. Also, I probably forgot to mention in my original post, that we are running Windows 7.

snagrat Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 We’ve had some customers with Stone computers fail in the last few days. Just will not boot. Is there a fix for it? We updated one BIOS but that completely borked the machine which will now not turn on at all.

Intel has Bios 0020 but Stone said don't use it so the one for these 0016. https://kb.stonegroup.co.uk/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=267 Were changing them even though they are running Win10 1709 ok at present, I don't trust them they are over 6 years old now. Had the same problem with some Novatec laptops they just went dud after Windows 10 1603.
