This all runs fine apart from my Magic Mouse 2 which often does not work

Did you update macOS to 10.13.4?

macOS update removes Apple’s Magic input devices from Windows when running Bootcamp

Owners of Apple computers report that after updating to macOS 10.13.4, their Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard are not so magic anymore and don’t work in Bootcamp. Apple has not released a workaround or fix yet.

After the macOS update is applied, all the magic input devices have magically disappeared from Windows. The bug affects both Macbooks and iMacs but it appears all affected users are on Windows 10. A user reports that only his Apple Bluetooth devices disappeared from Windows and not Bluetooth devices from other manufacturers.

On Apple’s forum, users are desperately looking for a solution. Initially they suspected the culprit was an update for Windows 10. But after uninstalling several specific Windows updates, the issue was still not resolved. The only common thing appears to be the macOS update to version 10.13.4, unfortunately rolling back to 10.13.3 also didn’t fix the issue for the user that tried it.

Any word on when the fix is coming

Not sure. Apple have already released a beta version of 10.13.5 so it can't be too far away. Hopefully they fix the bug you are experiencing in this release.

Apparently 10.13.4 also broke DisplayLink peripherals and apps like Duet Display.

"Installing macOS release Version 10.13.4 will cause Duet Display stop functioning after the OS upgrade," the app's developer said in a support article. "We have alerted Apple to this issue and are working hard to find a resolution. These features continue to work as expected in 10.13.3."

Issues are also serious with DisplayLink peripherals like some docks and USB monitors, as installing macOS 10.13.4 may cause them to go black. Secondary features such as sound and Ethernet connections should continue to work, as they are based on USB features baked into the protocol.

"We have alerted Apple to this issue and are working hard to find a resolution. These features continue to work as expected in 10.13.3," DisplayLink said, echoing Duet's statements.
