An opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our ICT Team. We are looking for someone who will be able to make a positive contribution to the continuing development of our school which has excellent organisational and motivational skills.

 

 

 

Under the general supervision of the IT Manager, the Senior IT Technician will install and support computers and network operations, provide hardware and software planning and evaluation, provide problem solving and training for end users and ensure systems’ efficiency and integrity. This post is for 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (3.30 Friday) with a salary of £22,000 and 20 days holiday + bank holidays.

 

 

 

The vacancy will suit a person who has an excellent track record in ICT preferably in a school environment, along with significant experience in providing ICT Technical Support. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of network systems, their installation, maintenance and adaptation and possess a high level of communication and interpersonal skills. ICT is used extensively in supporting teaching and learning and therefore this position requires enthusiasm for innovative ICT development to meet the challenge of continuing improvement in every aspect of our school.

 

 

 

This role is suitable for individuals who possess good interpersonal skills, with good time management and have the ability to communicate effectively with all users on different levels. This individual must be willing to undertake further training and have a desire to learn and develop their skills further.

Duties to include (but not exhaustive):

 

  • To assist the IT Manager in maintaining the smooth and efficient running of the computer networks and related ICT equipment across the MAT
  • Ensure delivery of high quality ICT services across all sites
  • Maintain accurate and up to date documentation for all IT Services
  • Resolution of 1st and 2nd line calls
  • Install, maintain and upgrade ICT hardware and software
  • Undertake routine repairs of equipment
  • Management of workstations and associated devices including AV equipment and network printers.
  • Support with network / server upgrades and updates
  • Provide support for all IT services including electronic door locks and heating system
  • Responsible for running of maintenance schedules for computer hardware and peripheral equipment such as projectors
  • Provide technical support within the classroom
  • Maintain ICT Inventory
  • Manage delivery of Windows updates to computers
  • Office 365 management
  • VoIP Management
  • Support staff in the use of Bromcom MIS
  • Manage the wireless infrastructure
  • Assist with updates to the academy and childcare websites via wordpress
  • Manage iPads via the MDM
  • Assist with new network cabling

 

 

The post holder should also be innovative:

 

Undertake research and development of new technologies in line with ICT Development plan as directed by the IT Manager

Implement regular reviews of age and condition of hardware and upgrading/improving when necessary

Implement regular reviews of current Operating Systems and applications and upgrading/improving when necessary

Research and Implement new web technologies on the School Website constantly keeping the website in line with the Schools vision.

  • Full UK Driving licence as travel to other sites is necessary
