mavhc Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Makes sense, why keep all the desktop stuff on Server just for RDP people, give them the normal client version. Also one less reason to keep your on site Server, which MS really wants to stop people buying

localzuk Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Seems like another way to increase complexity of your server setup to me. If they want to get rid of RDSH, get rid of it. Don't just move it into a different SKU. Any decision like this should be based on user needs, not on whether they want to get rid of the GUI in their OS or not. Users still have many reasons to use RDSH - look at them, and design stuff around it. RDSH and similar tech (XenApp etc...) is used by millions of users daily.
free780 Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 The issue at the moment is if your invested in Microsoft 365 as an organisation you cannot use the OneDrive Sync Client FOD in Server 2016 as it is LTSC. You also can't use Edge. As the investment seems to be in Windows 10 to support Microsoft 365 you'll probably have to upgrade the VMs every 6-12 months. So I guess it's RDSH on SAC.

Arthur Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 This 10 user limit is a bit poor! 10 user limit = more VMs required and more $$$s in licenses. I can't imagine they would increase it beyond 20 users though (which is the current logged on user limit in Windows 10).
