We deploy a default apps xml for Adobe reader which works fine as most clients have this. However, is there a way to set Acrobat Pro as the default for those clients with Acrobat Pro? As far as I can see you can only deploy one xml for default apps and the App ID for reader/Pro is different.

I've not tried but if you add an entry for both Reader and Pro (with Pro below Reader) does it work? My theory being that it will set Reader as the default and if Pro doesn't exist on the machine it'll simply glide over that setting.

only solution i can think of is to host the xml file locally (so say c:\windows\defaultapps.xml) and point gpo at that and just copy a different xml file to pcs with acrobat pro on it
