maxrebo Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 I have a WPAD entry setup on our network and this works fine when you manually add this to our mobile devices, is this supposed to work automatically? (added automatically to the devices when they join the network) or is the way that it works is that you have to always add it manually?

To make it work automatically you need to add entries to either DHCP or DNS (or both - different browsers respect different options). Here's a good guide: https://findproxyforurl.com/wpad-introduction/ 1

Wonder if you can push this out with an MDM...

Wonder if you can push this out with an MDM... Don't know about Chrome specifically but we push out the wpad settings with our wireless network config in Meraki MDM and Chrome etc seems to work nicely. It also seems to let me set it to Automatic and leave the URL field blank. 1
AlanD Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Personally....I'd prefer to use a transparent proxy at the gateway address - for mobile devices - Do you need the gateway address to be different from your proxy address?
