CCTV and Alarm System

Hi all,

 

We are moving into a new rental property and I am starting a new job, so will not be home that much and possibly could be staying away more. I have been looking at an alarm system and CCTV cameras but have to do it on a budget.

 

I have been looking at:

 

HiWatch or ieGeek CCTV Camera with iSpy Open Source Software

I know these arn't the best systems but it what I can afford. I like the HiWatch cameras as have been installing Hikvision at school and have been very impressed.

 

Also could anyone recommend a good CCTV software I have been recommended iSpy and ZoneMinder?

 

I know these are budget systems but it is what we can afford at the moment, especially after paying the reference fee and deposit?

 

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

If its under 8 cameras (or DVRs) Milestone XProtect is free, just need a windows machine to host it.
