SIMS Report Challenge!

I can't believe how I long I've spent trying to do this and have got absolutely nowhere. Please please please someone put me out of my misery........

 

All I need is a report showing the total number of Pupil Premium students in each year group. How hard can it be?????

Try using the analysis report output with Year Group and PP as the rows and columns.

Many thanks for the reply @hiphopamus but I need to output to csv so that I can periodically automate the running of the report using commandreporter.exe for displaying the data on our intranet.

 

Any other ideas?

Reports | School Report. Then choose date you want, if it's for current academic year, you can usually leave it. Then show long version and deselect all (for the sake of not flooding your screen). Only select Pupil Numbers and Key Pastoral Factors.

 

Generate, and look at the second page!

 

Please note that this will only show On Roll pupils as of the reference date. It won't show anyone who was on roll.

Thanks @CJLane. This shows the data I need but I somehow need this in a standard report that outputs to csv.

If you want a pure csv output you could create the report from the Groups focus and filter a sub report count of students by PP and filter the groups by group type equals Year Group.

In SIMS. Report | Design Report -> New Report

Data Area: School | Group

Data Fields: Group Name, (Subreport) Students [With a filter of Pupil Premium Indicator = True]

(the subreport without any data fields will give you a count)

Group Filter: Group Type = Year Group

Default Output: csv
