Hi,

I planning to set up RD Web Access service in my Windows 2012 server. I want users to have remote desktop access facility outside to our network.

We have Microsoft volume licensing agreement, do I need to procure licence to set up RDWeb access.

Thanks in advance.

Short version is license it for full FTE staff using MicrosoftWinRmtDsktpSvcsCAL's at approx £6-7 a license.

@Steve21

we're getting quoted £12+ per CAL, got any hints as to where the £6-7 is coming from?

Guessing you're getting ripped off :p Either that or you're trying to buy them 1 by 1 and not for FTE count?

In all seriousness though shouldn't be anywhere near that unless you got something odd on there. £5.78 was this years renewal per license for us.

What product code are you getting on your quotes?

Hi @Steve21

This is what our guy got quoted:

120 WinRmtDsktpSrvcsCAL ALNG LicSAPk OLV E 1Y Acdmc Ent UsrCAL

Does that make sense to you?

We have slightly different code (AP vs Ent) as it's an additional product when covering full FTE - WinRmtDsktpSrvcsCAL ALNG LicSAPk OLV E 1Y Acdmc AP UsrCAL

(Full version is - MicrosoftWinRmtDsktpSvcsCAL AllLng License/SoftwareAssurancePack Academic OLV 1License LevelE AdditionalProduct UsrCAL 1Year )

It might be that if you're trying to do this outside your EES/OVS renewal you're not getting the AP discounts and it's just counting as a "full" product
