Memory sticks being odd

Yesterday, all was fine. Today when a member of staff puts a memory stick in a computer (we've tried a few computers and memory sticks) then it shows the contents of the stick for a few seconds, and then the window closes. If you go to "Computer", you can see the memory stick listed but it just says "FAT32" underneath it rather than the name of the memory stick. DISKPART can see it, and see it's size. Impero isn't reporting anything. If I log on as domain admin then the same thing happens but when clicking on the USB it says "Access Denied". As far as I am aware, nothing has changed, but clearly something must have. I have two IT technicians who aren't in the habit of doing things without telling me, but who are also both not here for me to ask at the moment! I've done a Group Policy Results Wizard and can't see anything in there blocking USB stuff. Windows 7, latest Impero, Server 2012. Where do I begin to look?

Sorry, probably should have said - There's nothing wrong with the sticks. They work fine in a standalone PC.

Could someone have disabled the USB storage through Impero?

Tracked it down. It was Impero. One of my techies had made a change, but done it in the wrong place. What was confusing me though was the fact that Impero wasn't throwing any error messages.
