Hi

With GDPR going to becoming affect from May 2018. We are a small IT team and every day the time is enough to do IT Support things on day to day basis.

Do your schools have appointed or a dedicated officer in charge for the GDPR? to audit IT and how are things audited?

Things in IT keep changing and a dedicated staff would make the system in control?

Thanks

I work for an external company providing support to many different schools, it seems to be either someone higher up in the school as taken on the GDRP role within their own role. HR ot Finance and they just tell us what they want to do.

I don't think I've been to one that has their own staff member specifically for it but it could be something that is needed if you have a small team.

I can’t get over the number of businesses that I work with still have the idea that because GDPR has the word “Data” in it, its all down to the IT guy to sort it out....

We have a DPO and I assist him on half the work. I don't have to but he scratches our backs so we scratch his. I am able to spare the time for GDPR because we have leadership backing to make things work. I've also got two technicians who can run most things without me. Without that team.. I couldn't do it.
