Paid_Peanuts Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Just purchased VMWare ESX server 3.5. I would like some recommendations on good books on how to install, best practices, pitfalls etc. Does anyone have any experience with any of the literature out there and could they suggest any which are worth a read. Thanks in advance.
bio Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I can surely recommend the official course from VMware. If you ever want to pursue the VMware certification you must follow that course. And the trainers are really good (at least in holland). I can help you out with a good book, but perhaps it would be wise to continue via PM bio..
tmcd35 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I'll go one better Here is the complete list of sites I used when I was studying for my VCP... VI3Book.com <- this book is very good, better than official docs IMHO VMware Infrastructure 3 Documentation VMware Communities <- spent a lot of time on these forums VCP Quiz >> Login - wpQuiz <- I pretty much passed my VCP thank to this quiz! vmuser - the Home of VMware Users Terry.
DMcCoy Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I also recommend reading the vmware forums, that and the manuals are all I read and it seems to have turned out well anyway Gone from 2.5 to 3 already, and 3.5 will be during the summer holidays
