Hi all,

Ive searched for answers for this and couldn't find anything recent.

We are a small school who have recently added a set of 16 ipads that can be used around the school. They are setup as stand alone devices but are managed by a mac mini running macos server. They are stored in a sync and charge trolley so can be connected to the mac mini or a windows 7 PC.

What is the easiest way to get the photos and videos that the children produce off of the iPads and onto our network?

So far I have been plugging the trolley into the mac and then using the photos app to sync the photos and videos and delete them but I still have to click on each iPad one by one and wait for it to sync before starting the next one. Is there an easier way, possibly more automated that will take the videos off and delete them once the iPads are plugged into the mac or a PC?

Thanks

We use https://www.stratospherix.com/products/filebrowsereducation/ in our school - costs a bit but it's possible to push configuration payloads to it via your MDM solution so it's completely automated.

Otherwise if you don't mind hand configuring each iPad app, you could use https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/fileexplorer-file-manager/id510282524?mt=8

Our staff use these apps to copy media from iPads onto a shared folder, which is then mapped as a network drive on their laptops.
