zilchdevotee68 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 (edited) I need help. I think its a problem with my program because my microscope turns on its green light and top light but the program either crashes or says there was an issue and to unplug the qx5, restart the pc and reconnect but it just crashes again. In the control console, I cant get a picture. I'm running the software on a Windows XP 32 bit VM. (windows 7 and 10 didn't work for me) I bought the microscope from my friend a few months back, and I've accidentally dropped it twice. Don't know if this means anything (prob not) but I have 0 microscope slides. Don't know if this matters either but I'm using VirtualBox, 120 GB dynamic storage 128mb RAM and 32mb video RAM. Using ISO image file. Windows XP is professional version. Nothing on it except the digital blue app. Maybe where I got it id the issue, it's from this site if it is can you post a good source (dropbox on the internet, http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/158803-digiblue-qx5-microscope-drivers.html). https://gyazo.com/d15f4c2c255b5ec201f6b9fa4ec96249 Edited February 24, 2018 by zilchdevotee68 added picture
Vaardu Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Are you allowing VirtualBox to take control of the microscope? If you click "Devices", it should show you what is connected to your PC and allow you to pass it through to VirtualBox.
zilchdevotee68 Posted February 24, 2018 Author Posted February 24, 2018 Yeah I noticed that earlier and whenever I needed to "disconnect it" I just put it to host then back to guest tho sometimes I forgot to reconnect after actually unplugging but right now it's connected, and has been - - - Updated - - - all I can do with my microscope is turn off and on my top light
nathan3388 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 worst software in the world doesnt push out correctly, limited driver support i would just invest in some web cameras and use them as it is alot easier and take no time to install at all.

Idon't have the money for it. I only had the money for this one because I was having a garage sale at the same time
southhamster Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 It's a shame because the hardware is reasonably solid but the lack of decent drivers and software makes them unusable now. I've wasted too much time trying to sort them out.
Accura2k7 Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Got the microscopes working here in Win 10 Pro x64 with the native app from the CD. Driver below. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tXCBmx6QKXgCzLNW2xQkPkj_9YrvS4Go
