No Internet Access - Windows 10 EDU

Windows 10 Education - 1709.

 

Hello all,

 

I've been fighting a problem for a while now, which seems to be linked to the 1709 update. The network connection icon on the task bar is showing as 'No Internet Access'. It doesn't show a yellow warning triangle, but internet access is fine.

The only problem that we've so far found is that we're unable to use the 'insert online videos' option on PowerPoint, but I'm sure it'll cause more problems further down the line...

 

I've spent too long searching over the internet, trying all the 'home' PC fixes, but nothing seems to remedy this.

If anyone has also come across this, and more importantly has resolved it, can you please let me know how you've done this?

Try downgrading the LAN driver in Device Manager.

Domains may be different now. Use smsniff from nir soft and restart the service, disable the nic. Then you can either let the domains through your proxy unauthenticated. Or disable the service or configure group policy.

There was a very recent driver update release, which came out after we initially discovered the fault. As soon as this came down it resolved the fault.

Back to basics was key here...
