Server Profile Manager - Cannot access server url, Certificate not trusted

Hi All,

 

Trying to setup profile manager on our iPads. Something to give us a bit of control before we get a proper MDM.

 

Ive setup the OS server and profile manager. It does use a self signed certificate.

 

When trying to connect to the Macs URL on the ipad however safari just says that the site cant be trusted and i cannot continue.

 

Ive tried exporting the certificate from the mac and adding to a configurator 2 policy but it doesnt seem to show in the trusted root certs.

 

Any ideas?

Are you installing the trust profile on the iPads when you configure them with AC2? You may find better success using enrolment profiles with AC2 to get them onto Profile Manager.

Cheers, i had the enrollment profile and the one of the server.

Downloaded the trust profile and its all working brilliantly.

 

Just need to create a proxy pac file now to tell them the server is local and not through the internet proxy.

No worries mate, you should be ok unless the proxy server is mangling stuff. Profile Manager uses push to send settings to them, the web interface is only for management, once they have enrolled - at least, this is how I have come to understand things
