Opinions wanted: Lenovo/IBM Server + Storage Warranty Experiences

I am contemplating buying Lenovo servers and storage as part of a refresh project. We currently have Dell server/storage kit and have been very happy with it. When we have had to call in a warranty part, they dealt with it promptly and part arrives next business day.

 

Anyone with Lenovo/IBM server and storage kit? What has been your experience of their support?

Please put my mind at ease, I am fearful of moving to Lenovo in order to save some money and possibly regretting the decision later when we need support/warranty.

 

Any feedback appreciated.

In my previous role we bought Lenovo Servers and SAN and rarely had a problem. When we did use the support had engineer on site within SLA or replacement disks etc that we were happy to swap ourselves.

 

Have just purchase a Lenovo for my new school based on those experiences

I have a few Lenovo / EMC servers px4 and px12

one is my VM shared storage and another is my DPM storage.

 

The VM storage could stand to have more IOPS but they were good value.

 

Watch for configuration deals, I got one fully configured + bought the drives I wanted for cheaper then the no drives included model.

 

I swapped in my drives and have the OEM's on the shelf just in case.
