Final Cut Pro

Hi,

 

We have a teacher using a NEW standalone school MacBook pro, but am having difficulty in obtaining a licence/download of Final Cut Pro for the machine.

 

A standalone account has been setup in ITunes using the no credit card/payments option.

 

Can anyone please advise of a supplier who could receive payment from the council, and allow download of FCP in Scotland?

I would personally do it through Volume Purchase Program, alternatively, you'll have to find a supplier that sells itunes vouchers!

Or an Apple Education Reseller that can supply VPP credit...

Though, can you still use the existing ITunes account with VPP credit?

I guess you would assign the software to the user in that case, though probably better to assign to the device and then the school can keep it. If the device breaks, you can move the install onto another.

Incorrect...

Do not use a real existing users email address, this can now be a school owned managed apple id. Best practice is to create an email with vpp@ or asm@ then you don't have the workload when that real person leaves the school.

When I set a few up a few years back, there was a massive hold up because they couldn't verify the VPP account with a person that worked at the school. I'm clearly out of date

We also purchase iTunes vouchers from a vendor to pay for ad-hoc applications like this.
