markman Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I have just bought a new computer and I need to move all my Outlook email and contacts over to the new one before the old one packs in completely. It is Outlook 2003. Can anyone help? Cheers
Gerry Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Outlook's e-mail storage file (typically *.PST) is usually stored somewhere in your Docs & Settings. If your contacts are stored in Windows Address Book though, you'll need to export them somehow. You can copy the PST over to your new Docs & Settings, but it may not preserve the contacts location (fixable from within Outlook though), however, importing should stop this from happening.
elsiegee40 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Open Outlook on the old machine File > Import & Export then choose Export to a file Put files on memory stick & Transfer to new PC. Open Outlook File > Import & Export then choose the appropriate Import settings
