How do I move outlook emails to my new computer?

I have just bought a new computer and I need to move all my Outlook email and contacts over to the new one before the old one packs in completely. It is Outlook 2003.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Outlook's e-mail storage file (typically *.PST) is usually stored somewhere in your Docs & Settings. If your contacts are stored in Windows Address Book though, you'll need to export them somehow. You can copy the PST over to your new Docs & Settings, but it may not preserve the contacts location (fixable from within Outlook though), however, importing should stop this from happening.

Open Outlook on the old machine

File > Import & Export then choose Export to a file

Put files on memory stick & Transfer to new PC. Open Outlook

File > Import & Export then choose the appropriate Import settings
