Bradcooper Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 (edited) Hello, We are having an issue around our site where users are trying to open any excel spreadsheet, and it just gets stuck on the loading splash screen, and sometimes even crashes. The only way to get around this at the moment, is to end the Excel process and re-open and it and it opens fine first time, which is not ideal. We are currently running Windows 10 Education 64 bit, Version 1703 with Microsoft office 2016. Has anyone came across this and found or fix, or have any ideas to progress with resolving this issue? Thank you. Edited January 18, 2018 by Bradcooper
RichCowell Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 We've had that occasionally, disabling add-ins has always resolved it for us, so I've never looked into it any further than that...
ColonelPanic Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 We had something similar, it would get to 100% on the splash screen, and go no further. We solved the problem by uninstalling Smart Ink (through the Settings/Apps menu)
Bradcooper Posted January 18, 2018 Author Posted January 18, 2018 Hello, Thank you for your solutions, this was a Smart Ink issue, followed steps above and has solved our issue. Thanks!
Steve21 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 What we do is deploy the regkey for office that disables the addon, but allows it to be manually loaded if people require. Then by default it'll be disabled at start and not cause a problem, but for those "i need" they can enable it. Steve
