How do you control Android devices on a Windows domain?

I'm told that our school is exploring having Samsung Galaxy Tablets for classroom use.

 

What are the pros and cons in relation to a Windows 2012 R2 domain?

 

In a nutshell, can they be locked down?

As far as I'm aware you won't really be able to do anything on the server to control them, you'll have to investigate and set up an MDM. We don't have any android tablets so can't recommend one, we use Meraki for our iPads although we have the free for 100 devices licence which they don't do any more, generally I think they have fewer settings for locking down compared to iOS devices though.

You might be better served by using an MDM solution, like the one from Fiberlink or Good
