How do you insert a formulae on open office

on open office database i'm making a simple... annoying ...database for our orders etc and i though i know lets have a simple X x Y=XY sorta formula for item cost, quantity, total. shouldn't be difficult but i cant find the tools that allow u to insert the formula, this is realy getting on my wick cus it should only have taken seconds and is bogging me down on the whole having to learn Bean to write a macro

 

so any help would be greatly appreciated!

so that when making orders it becomes a little more automated and saves us some time

As far as I know/can find out this can only be done with a macro attached to the changed event of one of the other fields...

cheers i guess its back to learning bean then was hoping there was a way of using excel/ calc sort of layout in the background or some thing
