Toshiba Sat Pro R50-B

Just don't get this one.

 

We have about 12 Toshiba Sat Pro R50-B's which we are trying to reimage with Windows 10, they are currently imaged with Windows 7.

 

I have tried SCCM

a Custom Windows PE boot image

and even the latest version of Clonezilla.

But none of them can see the SSD inside the laptop.

Literally if you run Diskpart and "List Disk" its says "There are no fixed disks to show"

However the Windows 7 image already installed on the SSD boots fine.

 

I have checked the BIOS, its set to CSM mode, and there is no option for secure boot enable/disable.

 

This is driving me nuts, any of you guys have any ideas on why nothing can see the SSD?

 

Could there be a hidden BIOS setting? If so how do I access it?

My (personal) R50-B works ok with Windows 10, I've enabled UEFI mode. It came with a normal HDD which I swapped for a SSD. Have you applied the latest firmware?

i had the same issue with some toshiba laptops (probably r50s) in the end i think i either put hdds back in or it was a specific brand of ssd managed to swap it round with another laptop (only had 1 or 2) and it worked iirc it was either crucial or kingston ssd's it diddnt like

I had these with I think it was Crucial SSDs and the combination of the SSD and the BIOS is incompatible with Windows 10. The only solution is to swap them out. They have Kingstons in now and work perfectly fine. Its annoying that they have never released a BIOS update to fix this issue.

We had exactly the same issue with around 100 of these. In the end we bought new SSD's and used the ones out of the R-50B's to upgrade older machines we had onsite.
