KK20 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Since 1709 is being rolled out by WSUS on our 1607 machines, I thought I'd update our applocker settings for the newer mixed reality offerings. However, as soon as I try and "select" an "installed packaged app as a reference" the MMC crashes with an exception. Anyone else having issues with applocker? The machine with RSAT was a 1607 that had WSUS upgraded to 1709. Applocker ran ok in 1607.
itwitch Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I'm having the same issue. I had the problem on my RSAT 1703 machine but unticked the .NET Framework 4.7 Advanced Services in Windows Features and the App Locker settings worked again. Rebuilt my RSAT machine to 1709 and App Locker settings is now crashing at the same point you refer to. It looks as though it is because 1709 has .net 4.7.1 built in. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/78e035be-0357-42b3-b308-e01cde23bad7/bug-applocker-gui-in-win10-1703-crashes-when-trying-to-select-a-user?forum=win10itprosecurity Thanks, Bill!
KK20 Posted November 30, 2017 Author Posted November 30, 2017 I just created the entries manually for the new packages in the end (create default rule, rename default rule, change package name etc)
itwitch Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 I saw in some article that RSAT works on a Win 10 VM. I tried that this morning with 1709 and the MMC does not crash when you get to 'install packaged app as a reference'.
