Howdy folks this might be a little out there but here it goes

 

I currently run an eSports after school club for years 9 - 13 and are currently playing the free to play FPS Paladins (Teen rated)

 

the club consists of 4 teams of 5 players and we mainly have matches amongst each other and occasionally online. however what i would like to do is to invite other schools to join us and host a little interschool competition

 

we normally play between 2:30 - 3:30 however they would be willing to stay later to participate in a tournament

 

if this sounds like something you would be interested in please throw in a reply and we can work something out

We don't have any Paladins players but Royal Harbour do run a 90-120 person games club each lunch (1.15 to 1.50) with a lot of League of Legends players. We have been looking at running a small competition against other local schools. We have pupils who will happily stay after school to have a competitive match, or if your lunches match we can play then. You can add wartywarlock in game or PM here, whatever works.

we dont have any LoL players yet but ill see if its something they want to do

It's pretty popular and free so you might have some players. However the difference between a max level account and starter is quite high, but we can likely field a team for any skill and level range.

 

We also have some CS 1.6 players these days and the occasional Unreal Tournament match.

I'm curious how you guys manage these?

Like game accounts, etc?

how do you make sure the students arnt being exposed to inappropriate language etc?

 

Something we'd like to do here (e-sports) but it just seems like a nightmare to control.

The game has a profanity filter built in but more often than not we play games amongst ourselves

 

As for accounts students use their own accounts we encourage team play outside of school

This is something I would like to start in our school. I was thinking of games such as Rocket League and Overwatch but not sure how to go about setting up accounts etc. I guess most students might have their own Steam account that'd help.

Yeah kids on lower play only in school matches, upper they can do what they want (year 10 up) but generally play in school still. At the end of the day, get parental permission for any concerns however mild.

Thanks for the info. What other games do you play at school? I guess the students will need to logout of their accounts at the end of their session to stop others using it.
