SCCM CB - Problem adding PC to domain

I've trying to build a machine in SCCM current branch, and am having problems with an error at the point I tell it to join the domain - I'm getting the following error:-

 

The task sequence execution engine failed executing the action (Join Domain or Workgroup) in the group (Apply Domain Network Settings) with the error code 50
Action output: . The operating system reported error 50: The request is not supported. 

 

The task sequence is simplistic so far, so no idea why this is happening:-

Can you try it without setting an OU, just leaving it to go into your default one and see if it errors

It's exactly the same

Then normally it'll either be an issue with the login details, or a network based issue if the drivers etc aren't fully working.

 

On the broken image, if you restart it and login locally and try to join it using the same details does it work?

It's not enabling the local admin account so not got logged in yet.

The applying windows settings should have the local admin account/password set in that stage, or aren't you setting one there?

That's the strange thing - I am setting them, and it says it's applying but doesn't seem to be aplying right....

So if you just disable the whole domain join step, and let the build finish (without joining the domain so it doesn't error) does it still have no admin login?

smsts.log.txtI've tried simpifying the task sequence right down to installing Windows and setting administrator account (see pic) but am now getting an error 0x80004005.

 

I've attached the Console log as well as the client log file in the hope you can help

For future reference you could just disable a step on the 2nd tab don't need to delete them all.

 

But in that one you just linked, remove the restart as you shouldn't need one between the OS and Settings

Do I need a final restart at the end to boot back into Windows for the user?

Yep, normally it'd be after the drivers etc but if you're just testing that you'll need one at end.

After a few more attempts, I've flattened and rebuild my SCCM server, and am now having problems geting past the inital PXE boot - I've opened a new thread with the current issues. I'm tearing my hair out!
