Migrating os 10.5 client data to network (10.5 server)

Im clueless on this one, im trying to take a os 10.5 client and move the clients data to a network account without alot of hassle (aka manually moving data if possible) any ideas?

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking here, but if I am picking you up correctly then you could try using the Apple Migration Assistant. It can be found in Applications > Utilities.

I dont know what your struggling with?

 

so basically you have a local user on a machine.

this user also has a network account and you want to migrate data to their network account.

 

easiest way.

 

go to the machine that its stored on

mount their home folder on the network using their network account details to ensure correct permissions.

copy the contents of Documents,Desktop,Library folders on to the server in to the corresponding folders.

 

I would personally test if the Library folder was needed at 1st and pick and choose folders inside it (mail, preferences, Safari folders come to mind)

Thank You for your comments, I also found an article on how to use rsync to accomplish the same.
