Office 365 domain merge

Morning,

 

I have a school on a sch.uk domain and want them to move to another one still within o365. I believe that they are already on O365, but need to check this.

 

Is it straight forward to move the accounts from the sch.uk to the new domain?

Are you moving any data? If so what data?

Do you mean OneDrive data?

 

I'm hoping not and just mailboxes.

You would need to setup the 2 systems side by side and do an IMAP migration to get the mailbox across.

 

You can also export and import via PST files. However when you do the export it puts all the mail into a sub folder so ruins the structure of all the mailboxes.

I think that they only use the web version, would that still be the case of exporting the PST's?

Although you can do them in the Outlook client, on bulk you would use the Office 365 Admin system. So it doesn't really matter what client the user is using.

For £4 per user I would use CloudMigrator365 to move all of this for you

I wouldn't pay £4 a user when you can do it yourself. No real point.

If they're already on O365 then just add a new domain to the O365 account and change email addresses
