[ipad] iPad setting up confusion

Hi all,

I'm in need of a bit of advice....We have recently bought about 20 iPads along with a charge/sync cab and a MacBook and I'm trying to get my head around the whole iPad setting up in schools and I find the whole process confusing and not sure where to start..... I seem to see bit's online about Apple School Manager, DEP, VPP, Apple Configurator, Institutional Apple ID, etc. We don't have an Institutional Apple ID, so is that the first place to start and where do I sign up for one? I have an email account set up to use for the iPads Apple ID, but can that account be used for the Apple ID and VPP together? Is there a step by step idiots guide to all this...any help or advice on where to start would be helpful and greatly received.:confused:Thanks

First thing i would do is get signed up for Apple School Manager, https://school.apple.com that will take a few days then move on once you have that. You can do VPP and DEP from within that.

Hi and thanks for the reply-much appreciated. Does signing up for Apple School Manager create an Institutional Apple ID or does this have to be done separately? Thanks again.
