Getting photos from phones

Just want to know how other schools are doing this - getting photos from student mobile phones.

 

A teacher has asked for some Apple Ligthning leads for the photography group however we feel that student userareas will become full very quickly with the amount of photos students like to pull off their devices.

 

At the moment, students come to us to get photos for their work off their devce. We run the files through Fast Stone photo resizer and move them to their userarea. If we give students the ability to do this, their userareas will be full of 6mb photos.

 

Also, students will be forever changing their devices.

 

Would be great to hear from other schools that allow this.

Google Suite for Education has this covered.

Students save to their drive which has unlimited storage.

we were going to tell them to use their school onedrive but still faced with the size of their images

it's free to add google suite to your domain, and most phones (android) have all the apps pre-installed.

If it's for the photography group, reducing the file size would also reduce the quality quite significantly if they are intended to be printed again - might be better in that instance to look to options like Google Suite as already mentioned to remove space used as being a concern

But the images land on the network in the end anyway and we've not had an issue in the past with quality.
