So it seems 1709 has an issue with installing .Netframework 3.5, both from windows update via commandline and control panel - I have yet to try from SOURCES but as I use .WIM files exclusively I don't always have access to these.

My usual line;

dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all

does nada, returning 0x800f081f

Anyone else experiencing issues with this on 1709?

I'm finding it can be a bit hit and miss doing the upgrade. I've had a few laptops that it's run smoothly (although its not fast!) and some that bomb out every time and have to roll back. For those ones I'm just carrying out a fresh install from the ISO but obviously this is a bit time consuming if they have a lot of apps installed etc!

This is the line I use from the 1709 DVD. dism.exe /online /enable-feature /ALL /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:d:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess Have not has any issues.

Add the /LimitAccess switch to your command line

If you are using the wim you likely got from a mounted source somewhere if you look at that location there should be a sources\sxs in it are cab files for this feature copy to folder and call the command with the sources parameter and point to the location you have the cab files. For me this needs to be in a different spot each time I cannot foresee so I made a batch put the files in the same location as batch and this was the contents of batch DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /Source:%~dp0 /All

You could also use the offline option to apply it to the wim ahead of time.

This is a new PC, Windows is installed only by 2 weeks.... Maybe it's better if I think about a formatting...

@palarran. Try this PowerShell command as an alternative to DISM...

Add-WindowsPackage -Online -PackagePath "$env:USERPROFILE\Desktop\microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package.cab"

You will need to run it from an elevated PowerShell console or ISE.

Also, could you post a screenshot of the output from the following PowerShell command...

Get-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName 'NetFx3'
