Asset Inventory

Hi All, can someone help me find a free IT inventory software please? We have our workstation a workgroup. I don't mind even manually enter the data. I'll appreciate any help. Thanks

Depends what and how much asset information you need to record, you could just use a spreadsheet.

Personally if it is just for IT, I wouldn't over cook it. I would look at a spreadsheet or something.

We've run OCS with GLPI together for years and it's been very good. Just playing with Spiceworks at the mo but I don't think it does non pc assets or toner inventory? Could be wrong...

 

There is also the free version of PDQ Inventory which is very good

No, I don't want to use a spreadsheet. We will be expanding soon. But let's say at the moment I've to keep record of upto 150 assets including desktops, laptops, android & Windows phones, tablets and Ipads. Plz if you know any free software which u have used and are happy to recommend that will be great! Thanks

We use a spreadsheet for ours, depending how much you know about excel you can make it do anything you want really.

We use a spreadsheet (Google Sheets) for ours. As we also have over 100 Chromebooks, we use the free Chromebook Inventory Google Sheets addon which syncs the info from the Google Admin panel into the spreadsheet.

I wrote our own SQL Database with an MSAccess/VBA front end... with it we can tie in Purchasing, life cycling, warranties, repairs, auditing, personal allocations (for laptops/iPads etc) and Disposals. We currently only use it for ICT related stuff but there is talk of expanding school wide so we don't have to pay for any external services (I think we use Parago at the minute)

 

One thing to remember with any Inventory is that it is only as accurate as those that keep the records.

We have this but it’s purely in Access. Happy to send you a copy with some notes to see if it’s of use.

I would really appreciate that. I'm good in access and had a distinction in uni, but didn't use it for so many years! Of I can just use to do IT assets data inventory and change it to our charity organisation's company branding?

Its a stripped down version that we gave to a local high school recently.

 

The pictures in the download show our one which has a lot of queries/reports etc which I am sure I could strip out all the data etc

Thanks, I've saved that for now and it will take some time to customise it according to our requirements but I'll be working on it after my holidays. I will let you know how I'll be going with it. But it looks really useful though!
