garethEds Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Morning All, I come with the first HyperV issue of the day. When clicking on a virtual machine it is slow accessing. It opens the window and stays black for about 10-20 seconds before the virtual machines logon screen appears. Is there any way I can speed this up? Have I missed a setting? Issue 2 in another thread. Cheers Gareth
NB9457 Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 How long has the VM been running? Have you recently added any more VMs? What RAID config are you using? Local or SAN storage?
garethEds Posted October 24, 2017 Author Posted October 24, 2017 Hiya @NB9457 - My apologies. All of our high availability machines are running on a SAN. A HP2000 which is linked via a switch to the nodes. We couldnt' afford fibre channels when we purchased the servers but it is running through a gbit Cisco switch There are one or two test VMs running but these are stored on the local device and are deleted when they are not needed. The VMs have been running for ages but do get restarted every now and again when windows updates go through. The one I started earlier has been up for 15 hours as I restarted it yesterday to see if it made a difference. Hope my notes make sense, Gareth
garethEds Posted October 24, 2017 Author Posted October 24, 2017 Just the one VM or multiple? They are all generally quite slow in opening up. The window opens immediately, but the black screen and then eventually the logon screen. Gareth
