"Exceptional Circumstance" applied in error - can I get rid of it?

M'colleague has applied a # code to a student's attendance in error.

We've tried to delete the exceptional circumstance, but although now it'll allow me to delete the # and put the attendance marks back on for the lessons, it stays resolutely stuck in the sessions and I can't overwrite.

Is there a way to fix it? Would making the student a leaver and then removing the leaving date force SIMS to overwrite everything with a Z, then delete the Z but not replace it with what was there before?

Be VERY careful when messing with leaving dates. All attendance marks will be deleted that fall outside of the range of your admission and leaving date. You might fix your problem but create a much bigger one. If you have successfully deleted the exceptional circumstance, try running database diagnostics, before having another go at editing. If that fails contact user support.
